LAM (S) APPROVED VEHICLES FOR FIRST TIME RIDERS

A number of people have asked us recently "do Zoot have  LAM approved motorcyles and scooters and why are we not listed in the South Australian list of approved vehicles?" The facts are that All 4 stroke motor cycles and scooters under the engine capacity of 249 CC are apprroved for the potential purchaser and therefore do not have to be listed.

We quote from the appropriate SA Govt. site...

Learner approved motorcycles

Learners and riders with less than 12 months experience (R-Date licence holders) are not permitted to ride high-powered motorbikes capable of unnecessarily high performance and speed.

The power to weight ratio of a motorbike is the ratio of the maximum net power output of the engine to the motorbike’s weight. This ratio determines the acceleration – the higher the ratio the faster the motorbike can accelerate.

The South Australian Government assesses the engine capacity, power and weight of motorcycles and issues a list of approved motorcycles suitable for R-Date licence holders.

Most models of Motorcycles in the category 0-260ml are eligible
